holy crap thank god i found this..... i blew the same thing out of my nose today after a VERY VERY PAINFUL sinus infection..... well i think it's a sinus infection. mine was bloody though.... and i told my husband it felt and looked like raw chicken too.... how funny. thanks for writing this!
I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only one. I will be having my 2nd surgery next week. I have not been able to breathe, smell, or taste for the past 4 years. I've been miserable. So, if any of you out there should find something/someone that might be able to cure this please let us all know. Thanks, T.
wow, i really think thats what i have done,thought it was just me, first was a piece of elastic flesh,about 1.5 cm long,then i felt something blocking my nose totaly. the morning after,i had to blow my nose and out it came, a mucus covered mass, arghhhh,i thought i had done real damage. reading this has boosted me a little

First i had a tooth ache then the side of my head was hurting.I couldn't breath or smell.I just realized i was having a sinus infection,well one of those chunky things came out and it scared me.I guess i'm glad i'm not alone but i'm still a little worried.Does anybody know exactly what this is?
I'm 32 male and have always has sinus headaches/infections. Been sick for the last few days and feeling better I wa smoking a little something and after I sneezed or coughed I had this same snot covered bloody solid object come out of my nose. I guess I was kinda excited as I have never seen this before (but that's just me). When I breathed in my left side now felt turbo charged, I haven't been able to breathe through my nose this good as long as I can remember...now if it would only happen to my right side ....Brad
Hello, i just had a nose surgery just over a week ago and i felt the need to blow my nose though we are advised not to. However i felt an urge to do so despite the pain and out oozed a big meaty gooey substance. I couldn't believe it at first because i didn't know what it was. I proceded to blow to loosen the rest of it but had to end up pulling it out. Yes it seemed like a meaty type substance, simalarly to a piece of kidney. Very odd and strange. Apparently i just came from a deliverance, so i wandered whether the meaty substance was symbolic of the deliverance that i had endured. Food for thought
i think i am a bit relieved to read this really, i dont blow my nose i do what u shouldnt do and sniff it up and ends up down my throat lol andywa i have had some nasty viral infection for a week now and have been very poorly, coughing and bad head jaw and teeth, anyway tonight i felt like something was in my throat so cleared my throat and out cane something that looked like matted chicken breast it was flesh coloured and nothing like phlegm i paniced thinking all sorts!, reading this has put my mind at rest though, maybe it is the same as u r all describing but come out my mouth instead of nose becuase i dont blow my nose i sniff it back!.. ive not really got a blocked nose or anything but it is a little snotty!
I came across this site since I have had a nasal obstruction (near total blockage)on one side for approx. 5 weeks now. Initially I went to the local doc-in-a-box where I got a good dose of Nasal spray. Then off to the ENT where I got more Nasal spray. Next was my gp where I got a wet xray that showed a maxillary sinus infection and two different antibiotics ~ that and more nasal spray. Fast forward to today, I am waiting for my CT scan since nothing has worked and am waiting to see the pic of the bug family that lives up there OR (and that's where this site comes in) a big, gross piece of nose crap, or as it is called (everyone ready?) RHINOLITH. Yes, I'd love to have that be my answer. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted. Wish me luck...
omg! i feel so much better, this happened to me last night. i was freaking the hell out! i took pictures and emailed my bf. i thought something was wrong with me. i was totally gonna take it to the doctor for them to examine. i have a compulsion with blowing my nose, done it for years [i'm only 17!] seen everything, but last night oh god! i thought i had blown out a parasite. i'm super paranoid about things like that. nd plus i'd just had oral surgery this monday past, they told me they'd have to insert a tube for my ventilation; thinking they had screwed up or something! so happy i'm not alone. i couldn't even sleep. it was weird being able to breathe, but unfortunately the nostril is back clogged. another summer cold i guess. thanks for everything! me and my mama didn't know what to think of it. *thought i had ruptured something in my nose.. if you need pictures to compare, just email me.
This just happened to me too, it looked like a piece of turkey lunch meat, odd off white color and even came apart like a piece of lunch meat. I did get choked on some ham earlier, but I think I saw something similar this morning. I get paranoid about stuff like this too. This is the only good info that I could find on it. My dad is an RN so I was going to call him and ask him about it. I've had really really bad allergies lately.
I have been blowing those things out of my nose for atleast 2 years now. I thought for sure that the reason for me having these chunks was from the years of doing drugs. ( Im sure that had alot to do with it) But is this happening to people that have never used drugs? Personally the first time I blew one out I was amazed! It was like a trophy to me and I had to put it in a bag and show all my friends!!lol once it started to become a regular thing thats when I gave those little suckers a name........ FIRETRUCKS!!! Sometimes they come out bloody and thats when I got the idea to call it that. But on a real note. I have been searching for answers about this problem for a long time now. I have a very big hole in my nose and it is hard for me to breath at times so when that happens I actually have to clear out my nose and sometimes it's hard cause those little bastards can be hard and sticky so I'll have to stick a finger inside one nostril to create a forced pressure and when I do this It doesn't always come out on the first blow. At times I have to blow in and out and to me I think this is loosening these chunks up a little and then on the next good strong blow man that little FIRETRUCK shoots out like a rocket! And let me ask am I the only one who's ever lost one of these guys? I mean sometimes they blow out so hard its hard to follow. I dont want anyone to think that Im making a joke about this subject. Honestly I try to laugh about it because it disgusts me that I have these chunks coming out of my nose.. I have always thought to myself what the hell is wrong with me? Im not proud of my past( the years of doing drugs so dont think from the way I have just described this problem that Im bragging about the way that I lived my life cause its far from that. If anyone has any info about these fleshy chunks that we have all seem to have blown out of our noses and some of us out of our mouth's please do email me. It would really ease my mind to stop wondering what's wrong with me..
Yeah im glad im not the only one that has this. the first time i blew one of these things out i was freaked the hell out. i was too scared to pull it out myself so i just let it back it there, and sometimes if i blow my nose it'll come out again. Should i just yank this thing out next time i see it? im like terrified to do some damage to myself.
So glad I'm not alone. Thought I blow out a membrane or part of my brain ( if possible). I have been sick for 3 days, not being able to swallow or breath. today I blew out a small...what looked like a bloody, mucus, chicken breast. so I have nothing to worry about?
I've only blown one of these out of my nose once, when I had a bloody nose and it stopped. I was pretty young so obviously I thought I was dying. But 10 years on and I've yet to encounter another. Mine was bloody covered and a whitish color. I don't think its anything to be overly concerned about though.
My sinus infection is killing me!!! I blew one of those things out of my nose this morning and I was like WTF it was ball and it looked like it had veins and it was like rubbery IDK I am pregnant and cant take anything I am working through the torment!
I had exactly the same thing happen to me. I was diagnosed with tonsilitis on Tuesday, now its Friday and i just blew one of those things out of my nose, 1st time ever! It worried me a bit too, then found this thread. So i am guessing that its normal!! Thats good to know!
I am 50 and have been wondering what those things are. they look like a piece of steak and I have to blow my nose like a hundred times to get them to finally come out. I have a sinus infection right now and the one I blew out yesterday had a really foul odor. I had to smell it a couple of times because I didn't think anything could smell that bad. I kept thinking when my mother used to say "chew your food" that maybe this was some steak I inhaled at night and it has been residing in my sinus cavities for 40 years. I too have had sinus surgery twice and my current doc says my recurring sinus infections is because of the damage the surgery caused.
Wow I think I'm psyched up enough to try to blow my nose hard enough to get this fleshy lima bean looking thing out of my nose. I would like to breathe freely. Finding this thread was relieving. I've had three of these so far this year. I too think they may be called polyps (there's some info on the web I saw somewhere). I'm so glad its not painful. Someone said today I sound like Kermit the Frog on because my left nostril is basically blocked. By the way, the previous two times I had it it lasted maybe three weeks. I though someting came out of my nose that one time, I guess looked like a old white grape or rubber cement whatever that looks like. Take care.

Me again. I pulled out my nasal obstruction with sterilized tweezers and it was painless and there was minimal bleeding. I then rinsed snorted saline and baking solution. It may come back in a few weeks but I don't think I will have surgery in the meantime if ever. I am watching for infection now though for a few days.
Its called Catarrh, simple as that - Catarrh, its a great feeling get that stuff out. Mine is also like raw chicken with a blood streak in there for good measure, I will say again, its called Catarrh (google it)
Unbelievable that i found this site so quickly. It just happened to me a 41 year old male. I never had anything come out like that before. Looked exactly like a bloody piece of chicken flesh, rubbery as well.(could squeeze it and feels like squishy cartilage) There were a few light blood marks in the tissue after blowing a few more times. Must be a Sinus type of thing,cause my right {censored} and top of nose felt slight pressure for the last week or so.I also had pain in the back of my head if i were to cough to hard.I'm glad to hear no one talking about it being anything major that we should be concerned about. I saved mine in a plastic container thinking this will be the death of me. My wife freaked out as well. Now i can breath a lot better and do not feel so scared, thanks to all of you for sharing.
I had something stuck in my left nostril that was making me sneeze. I kept blowing my nose and could feel something in my nose so I used an irrigator and this little pink thing came out when I realized I just sneezed out my asshole!
this is amazing. i had one of these a while back and have been freaked out by it since. what came out was like almost the size of my pinky finger, it had different kinds of tissues (like fatty and fibrous and almost cartilagenous even), and it definitely had its own circulatory system (there were veins running up and down each side)...it was a mission to blow out of my nose too. i wish i'd kept it, because i can't seem to find any pictures of similar things online. anwyays...i hope you all find ways to get rid of your sinus monsters, and that they stop coming back!
Haha that one made me Laugh Out Loud. Had the same thing today and started searching, I would describe it as chicken liver type of substance, I also thought this is it..... But finding this place made feel much better.
Happened to me a month or two ago, looked like a ring, or rubberband (continuous circle) flechy, yellowish pink, same as you guys. Think i have another now, same situation, hurts my head a bit blowing my nose so hard tons of times, but it wont come out again..
yep totally just blew one out on my nose a second ago.. it has happened before but this one was bigger and the inside of my nose is sore. ugh and i can only breathe from the side it came out of
anyone know how to get these out? I can feel something in there - had a sinus infection for 2 weeks now - and I cannot - blow as I might - get this out. It is driving me nuts and making me sneeze...
That is fascinating. I can remember things form awhile back and as I was working today I was wondering what it was. I was 6 or 7 and I don't remember if I was blowing or picking my nose when I started pulling out this long fleshy, thin, rubbery, reddish, whiteish thing from my nose. It was not bleeding though I remember very clearly. I was terrified and amused at the same time. I remember looking at myself in a mirror and wondering what is was. I kept pulling until it was about 2 feet and then it started hurting. I was too afraid to keep pulling and I was too afraid to show my parents so I rolled it up back into my nostril and have never had anything like that happen to me since. I have a very clear memory of it though, it was bizarre.
