YES- and mine is also from WalMart. I have NEVER previously had this nasty smell in my metformin. It has been within the past 4-5 refills that this is a problem. I asked the pharmasist just last weekend and she blew me off, and said that she has other meds that smell worse. I am trying to contact the FDA regarding it. I have gained so much weight that I have moved from a size 8 jean to a size 12 since these pills seem to have been changed, in April. Considering the metformin is what helps me to keep the weight off, I find the coincidence just too much for me to leave alone. Oh-the manufactering company on my bottle is listed as Sandoz.

I recently went to wal-mart for my prescription of metoformin and mine smells like urine and taste kinda bad, too. My guess is its the manufacture, Sandoz. Before it was Teva when i went to Walgreens and no smell or taste, so i will be switching back. Sure it cost more but its worth it.
My metformin has a strong fishy odor and so does my urine when I use it! Has anyone noticed this? If the little silica capsule is left in the bottle, the medicine doesnt seem to smell so badly, but if it is removed, yuck!
My metformin also has a strong fishy odor as does my urine since using it. I have a doctors appt. next month and intend to ask him about it. Do any of you have similar circumstance with metformin? ;D

glad to see your post. started to think im going kookoo. my wallmart pills dont smell to bad but they make me smell awfull! im a big guy and the pills really do a number on me. starting some pills made by solco healthcare now, hope they are better..thanx. pat mcreynolds
