I have found a fix for this problem.
Do a search on your system for the following file...
CSS-DVP.SYS
Try renaming it to something like CSS-DVP.SY1 or CSS-DVP.OLD
Then reboot your system and see if you still have the same problem.
This worked for me, and after running my system for a while with-out any problems, I deleted the file from the sys.
Let me know if it worked for you.
BTW, I did have Command Software's Freedom Internet Security on my system at one time, but did not like it. I deleted it, but it left this old file behind. It was what was causing the annoying start-up msg, everytime I booted into XP.
