| ImmunoLab can relieve the pain !!! Brad_Chad 00:51:36 |
| | There is a company in Florida called ImmunoLab (24 years). They have a guarntee that if you send them a small blood sample, and a fee, they will find foods that you are sensitive to. If you remove those foods from your diet for at least 90 days, you will see measurable improvement in arthritis, fatigue, headaches, overweight, and indigestion. They even guarantee that there will be measurable improvement in ADD in children. Many people have their symptoms completely disappear. They are at www.ImmunoLabs.com.

| Diclofenac dosage Puckertoe 09:47:49 |
| | Greetings,
I'm taking 150mg of diclofenac a day for PA until my Enbrel starts to work. I'll be taking my first shot on Thursday.
My dr. prescribed 100mg of the slow release at bedtime to help me sleep. It usually helps enough to sleep and then have enough left over in the morning so my poor wife doesn't have to dress me.
He also prescribed 50mg diclofenac SOD so when the slow release wears off I can take that.
My question; the diclofenac can take hours to kick in. If I take it a 6AM it'll start providing relief between 11 and noon. Is this normal for diclofenac? The slow release can take a long time as well. (I'm also doing hep-c tx)
Anyone have any ideas?

| Knee Surgery Athena 21:09:44 |
| | Saw two surgeons in Boston.
I saw a highly recommended surgeon at NE Baptist, but he was so arrogant and disdainful I couldn't imagine him doing my surgery.
The other surgeon was at Brigham and Womens is also a good surgeon, he's on their webcam. He does a less invasive surgery, doesn't cut the tendons, only takes a knick out of the muscle, uses computer to guide him. He says in 3 to 4 weeks I'll be walking without a cane. WE'LL SEE! I have to wait three extra months for this guy to do the surgery, the other surgeon could have done it in the next couple of months.
My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I think it's important to have confidence in your surgeon.

| OTP LAX ? Guest 19:21:44 |
| | Can anybody help with some suggestions please?
My wife and I expect to be flying into LAX en route to New Zealand in January. We will stay 2 days in LA and then fly out. We need to find a reasonable 3/4 star hotel not under the flight path, in a reasonable area and within fairly easy reach of the airport. We would also like to hire a car (arthritis or replacement hip compatible) and visit some of the country nearby. We thought Venice might be OK, but the travel agent says no! We are currently thinking of Holywood -
All help gratefully received

| | Dear Folks,
I had asked about plane tips for my son. He made it! He left early this morning and arrived to be greeted by his brother. He had not previously flown so the extra security didn't really bother him.
Oh, he did carry a liquid foot deordrant which is by prescription. The security gave him no trouble with it.
Thanks for all the tips!
He said that on the first flight he had the whole row to himself but on the second flight he only had an aisle seat. I reminded him that was what he had paid for; a seat.

| I didn't appreciate..... Califchief 14:47:27 |
| | As I get older, I realize there are things in my life I didn't appreciate until it was too late.
I didn't appreciate the naps they used to make me take in kindergarten.
I long for the day when someone says, "You can't work anymore until you take a nap." I guarantee you, I won't argue. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate one-cent candy or milk that was delivered to your front door. In the "do-it-yourself" world we'll never see either of those again.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate those face-squishing hugs my mother used to give me.
Now that she's gone home to be with the Lord, I long for just one more.
This time I would squish her right back.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate the days I danced barefoot in the rain with my mouth open wide trying to get a drink of raindrops.
----------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't appreciate the sacrifice my parents made for my brothers and me to keep us clothed, fed and happy.
--------------------------------------------------------- I didn't appreciate mom letting us mess up the living room on a rainy day.
I thought building a tent with a secret tunnel is what everyone did on those days.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate the marvels of planting a seed and watching it sprout into a full-grown plant.----------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't appreciate the struggles we had to go through as a family.
Because of yesterday's struggles, we have strength for today.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate the times my sons came to me and asked those annoying, unanswerable questions. "What makes a duck quack?" "Why is the sky blue?"
I had no idea they thought I was smart enough to answer all their questions.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate the times our family had together.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate those "primary" Sunday School teachers who went through so much trouble to collect toilet paper rolls so I could understand what a scroll was.
----------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't appreciate those clear nights when the stars danced with glee showing off their awesome Creator.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate our son's "refrigerator artwork" that made our house a home.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't know to appreciate the muddy footprints my wife and I so often found making a path across our carpet as a representation of life.
----------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't appreciate the times my children fell asleep in daddy's arms.
I didn't realize it was there they felt protected from all the elements of the world. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I didn't appreciate my parents taking me to church, the place I found Jesus!
----------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't appreciate the ease at which I can access a Bible, while I know people who hunger for a single page.
------------------------------------------------------------------ And, even today, I can't fully appreciate what a great salvation I have.
------------------------------------------------------------------ God, I have just one prayer for today. Open my eyes that I may be able to see and appreciate the things that you do each day.
... It hung in the air exactly the same way that bricks don't.

| running from the explosion Pope Pie 09:50:39 |
| | I started working at a new school in Phoenix and on the fourth day someone ruptured a gas main so the whole place was quickly evacuated with people veing strongly urged to hurry. I found myself in a know of fast moving teenagers so there was little to do but trot along with them. It didn't hurt to run but I thought that it might not really be a good idea and got out of the group.
So, on the fifth day I could hardly stand, much less walk, and had to call in sick. Not an auspicious beginning.

He asked a family member to fetch an IRS agent and a lawyer.
When the agent and lawyer arrived, the minister pointed to a chair on each side of his bed. The two men sat...and sat... and sat.
After a couple hours of silence, a family member inquired of the minister's intentions.
He replied, "I want to die just like Jesus, with a thief on each side of me."

| | think i'm going to take a break for awhile
susie has been conclusively diagnosed as RSD in left foot and ankle - seems the mild tearing of ligament/tendon (which caused all the inflammation requiring cast) didn't heal right and now things have headed south for her - new doc (rehab/phy) is terrific and very knowledgeable - so she's starting off at 3 sessions of rehab and pain treatment a week and we'll go from there.
my right shoulder adhesions got bad enough that had to have them broken loose - but already reforming, below 50% rom again and can't torque or go to the rear at all. both elbow ulnars are acting constantly impinged and so far the pt isn't working, fibro is off the scale and sleep is difficult as a result
the only bright spot is that while she has diff. walking/steps, i don't, so i move stuff around; and she can handle cupboards and shelves that give me fits...lol - gimp trade off, but it works!
some may remember my fur guy sebastion
a couple weeks ago he was in the back yard and foolishly got into a dispute with a pair of mockingbirds - lost two patchs of fur on the top of his head before he took the wise choice and retired from the field of battle - in checking him over i found a lump on his throat, right where the hinge of the jaw meets the bottom of the ear -
at the time the vet thought poss. from beak or talons and treated it as a cyst. didn't go away
last friday took a biopsy sample and got result yesterday - not a cyst from the birds at all - saliva gland/lymph gland cancer already stage two. spent last nite researching prognosis and found that even with surgery/chemo/rad - less than one year - mostly not even that long so...we made the decision that we could not put him thru all that just so that we could have him around a bit longer.
this noon we went to the vet's and held him while he got the shot that took him over the bridge
i had decided last nite that i would bury him in the garden that he loved so much - 'his' domain for sure. picked a spot that i thought would work for me to dig in.
but now here is the part that defies all logical thought:
early this morning all were up and -as usual - a bite to eat and then both gracie and seb' want their walk around the garden. here it has been misty/rainy/damp for a day - and this morning was no diff.
now gracie is a mudder, but sebastion has 'always' rejected rain and wet feet - but not today. figured i had to let him out before we went to the vet's
out they both went, albeit the boy slower than usual, and gracie, who always wanders on her own was just the little shadow.
after a full circuit around the yard and garden, sebastion headed to where he is wont to sit in the sun at the head of one of the paths. there he is - sitting in the rain - calling to gracie until she sits beside him - 'then' he turns to the house and calls to me...this continues for a few...
i put on a jacket and go out - thinking that perhaps one of the neighbors cats is there and needs shooing away. but no, there are no intruders.
so there i am in the middle of the yard and sebastion is still calling with that booming yrooooowlll of his. he gets up and walks down the path to me and calls once again before turning back to his place.
does this twice more before i figure that he wants me to go up there with him - sooo - there we are - sebastion, gracie and me - in the rain. once he has me standing right there he paws the ground, stands, and heads for the house with gracie in tow.
now think what you will, but i have only one idea - he wanted to point out 'that' spot... i had been thinking of a diff. location last nite - but after that very firm direction.. that is where i have buried him after bringing him back from the vets. the sun will shine again, and it will shine on sebastion in his place.
anywho folks - i'm tired, and so i'll think susie and i will just work on what needs doing for a while
if i owe anyone an email - write me directly i won't be lurking at least for now.
be well

| Psoriatic Arthritis and Eye Problems Paul Gray 04:12:59 |
| | Hi, I haven't posted in a long time but I lurk regularly.
I have just recovered from my second occurrence in less than a year or eye inflammation/corneal ulcers. Treatment was anti-inflammatory/antibiotic eyedrops for two weeks. My ophthalmologist says the problem is autoimmune, "related to", but not "caused by" my psoriatic arthritis.
I am on MTX (25Mg injection once per week) and Plaquenil, and generally speaking these have been what I call my 'miracle drugs". The decrease in pain and the increase in my ability to function has been nothing short of amazing.
Do others have these eye issues related to autoimmune conditions? Are there any other preventative treatments or practices that I should be following?

| Hip Surgery pre operation routine? Guest 23:06:48 |
| | I was cleared by my cardiologist to have hip surgery, I met with the hip surgeon on August 4th. It is scheduled for the first week after our high school football season concludes. He said the nurse would be in contact with me to schedule pre-operation training class, preparation, etc. What does this involve? Played golf today. My partner and I got a cart. Told him to use the cart, and I would walk as many holes as I could, than I would join him in the cart. Made it as far as the 11th hole, then the hip started letting me know that surgery was the only answer.

| OTP: A Visit to Paris Califchief 02:34:00 |
| | A furniture dealer from Alabama decided that he wanted to expand the line of furniture in his store. So he decided to go to Paris, France to see what he could find. After arriving in Paris (this being his first trip ever to The French capitol), he met with some manufacturers and finally selected a line that he thought would sell well back home in Alabama. To celebrate the new acquisition, he decided to visit a small bistro and have a glass of wine. As he sat enjoying his wine, he noticed that the small place was quite crowded, and the other chair at his table was the only vacant seat in the house. Before long, a very beautiful young Parisian girl came to his table, asked him something in French (which he did not understand), and motioned toward the chair. He invited her to sit down. He tried to speak to her in English, but she didn't speak his language. After a couple of minutes trying to communicate with her, he took a napkin and drew a picture of a wine glass and showed it her.
She nodded, and he ordered a glass of wine for her. After sitting together at the table for a while, he took another napkin and drew a picture of a plate with food on it, and she nodded. They left the bistro and found a quiet cafe that featured a small group playing romantic music. They ordered dinner, and after their meals he took another napkin and drew a picture of a couple dancing. She nodded and they got up to dance.
They danced until the cafe closed and the band was packing up. Back at their table, the young lady took a napkin and drew a picture of a four-poster bed. To this day, he has no idea how she figured out he was in the furniture business....
