| | On the website that has my drawings, there are TWO Deirdres in the art gallery section. I'm Moore -- the other is Walsh, and she's the real artist.
I should have mentioned this in my first post about my drawings. Sorry about that, all.

| Update on Klonopin taper :) V~anessa 15:50:09 |
| | Hey all,
A great online friend emailed me asking how I was as I haven't been posting or emailing for a while. So thought I'd drop by and say a quick hello and hope you're all doing ok. Sorry I don't have time to catch up with all the posts but nice to see some new names here, so welcome all newbies and hello to all good friends in here.
My Klonopin taper is going very well. I'm going down very slow at about .25mg every 4-5 weeks. I was on 3mg and am now down to 2.25mg per day and by next week I should be down to 2mg per day. It's been 6 years since I've been down to this dose woohoo.
I had an OTOB panic attack at work a few weeks ago and I did something I never thought I'd be able to... and that was to take Margrove's advice. Right in the middle of feeling "unreal/derealization" I told the anxiety monster to keep it up as it didn't bother me. I didn't care if I felt this way and I knew I would soon feel better and amazingly the fear subsided within a minute. Yep I was shaking for ten minutes afterward but I felt completely in control and not afraid at all. Next day I was still a little nervous and tempted to increase my meds but glad I didn't - not saying this is a bad thing, just prefer not to for now, like a test for me which would have a win/win outcome either way. If I had increased my Klonopin the next day it wouldn't have meant failure as I still believe it is part of my strategy to use this option if necessary.
And even now I'm prepared to go up to 3mg of K per day if the need ever arises but I'm also very proud that I've managed to taper down despite a couple of panic attacks and accept they'll be part of my life forever. Sometimes I'll be able to not let the fear take control and there'll be times where I the fear will take control of me. But overall I feel I'm the winner and each day is such a beautiful day.
Peace to you all!
Vanessa

At the end they do some outtakes and my cheeks still hurt from laughing. Forget about seeing some depressing serious movie. This is the one!

| OT: Use of the Palette Knife tool in ArtRage Deirdre 02:39:21 |
| | I posted an example of the use of the palette knife tool to Flickr. It's pretty cool. I took somebody else's photo and 'sculpted' it.
http://www.flickr.com/
click "explore flickr"
find the search box -- type in it:
Deirdre1952
then click the arrow next to the word "search" and click on "Flickr Members"
There I am. Click the link under my name for "photos".
All my photos will come up. To the right is a 'set' labeled "Comparisons" -- click that.
On the new page, on the right, click on "view as slideshow". This will give you the best comparison of the two images. All I used was the palette knife tool which sculpted the pixels on the original photo.
See? Anybody can do this!
Enjoy -- Deirdre

| I'm tired of feeling bad Frizzie 17:55:17 |
| | I'm sooooo tired of feeling either anxious or depressed or both that I just want to vanish. I've tried all the meds except the mood stabilizers. I haven't taken those because I don't think I can psychologically handle the weight gain. I've been like this since I was 16 (after my first panic attack) and I'm now 64. I'm wondering, to quote a line from a movie "is this as good as it gets?" I feel as tho I'm in a holding pattern just waiting to die.
I'm seeing my 83 year old mother decline in mental health. I'm seeing my male friend of over 25 years decline in physical strength. He trying to work on this 100 year old two flat we live in and he just can't do the heavy work anymore (he's 65) and I can't help him. I can't help him and I can't help my mom and I don't seem to be able to help myself. I think too that for the first time in my life I'm recognizing that bad boogie known as guilt has climbed on my back and is poking at the anxiety monster.
Sorry I'm venting. I don't mean to bring anyone down. Forgive me!
-frizz

| | Hi, Dawn, Definitely make your daughter's education a top priority. If that means moving then do what you need to do. Sooner or later I would love to downsize also. My son will be moving back from college TEMPORARILY in 2 weeks so we need to be able to facilitate his needs for a while also. I looked at some of the houses on the site. They awe me. Very nice and yet so different from the homes in my area - more like our medical facilities or small office buildings. I didn't notice any grass. What's the story on that or is it about the climate? smiles, Elise

| For anyone who wondered where I was Vicki 05:34:46 |
| | I have been out of town on vacation for 5 days. Got home late tonight. I am so happy to be home. It is hot there but we had to walk a jillion miles. (We were in Tono's neck of the woods).
We went to the main amusement park first and hubby bought 3 day passes for us all to go to Dollywood and the water park.
Dear God, my feet hurt. I felt like Debbie Downer. They were all having fun and I was trying to breath and stay out of the heat. (the heat is horrible for my anxiety). I did complain some but not as much as I wanted to.
I must say that I had lots of fun but when I got hot the anxiety kicked in like a Mac truck flying into my path.
I kept begging for ice water, which they give free in a cup but if you buy a bottle it costs more than $2.50. Long lines for the ice water.
Three days of amusement parks was more than I could take. I got so hot I nearly fainted. I went there with a stomach virus that made me not be able to keep any food down. It had to be a relapse of what I had a couple of weeks ago.
Not fun to be riding in a car but I did get past it the next day or so.
I would like tohear from Tono about what his favorite places are where he lives and eating places.
Love,
Vicki
