| | My name is Robin. I use the fentanyl patch every 72 hrs., I also have to use Avinza 2x daily, oxycodone 2 to 3x daily, lidoderm daily, biofreeze daily and proctosol daily. If it were not for these medicines I could not function at all. Before I had to start taking these I took celebrex and darvocet (13 daily) it worked until the celebrex ate a hole in my stomach, then I had to start taking all of this plus more. Without this I would be bedridden of dead from the pain. I am grateful for the fentanyl patch. The only complaint I have is the cost of all this medications, I am on a limited income and it takes most of it for medicine as you can see. But I can not do with out it if I want to keep going. Recently I have started having seizures the doctors are not sure if it is from one of the medicines or from the constant pain which can eventually leave leisons on the brain which can cause seizures. | | My 3 year old son was just diagnosed with Pleva a few days ago. He's had the outbreak since March 2. I've read all the research on the internet. However, I would like to know more about symptoms. since he's had this rash, he's been spiking fevers and low grade fevers as well. Some days no fever. He says his knees and thighs hurt, his neck and back and also his stomach. He's more irritable than usual (for a 3yr old in their terrible two's) and now says his eyes burn and the light hurts his eyes. We're planning to do a biopsy next week. We did lab work today at Children's hospital LA and everything came back okay (platelettes, white cells, lymphocytes, all the markers for serious virus,etc) all good. We were concerned because of the the ongoing fevers and body aches. He's on Erythromycin and a not yet used steroid creme (which i'm afraid to use). Any help from a fellow PLEVAN on how my 3yr old might be feeling. the hospital said no major virus or immune deficiency present. they think the fever and aches could be symptomatic of the PLEVA, or a coincidental flu or mild virus. Please help. |
